Diefenbacher Violin Gouges
These long handled gouges make the job
of carving violin, viola and cello plates faster and easier. The
specially designed ash handles allow the user to make powerful,
efficient cuts for quick removal of excess wood. The hand
forged blades are made in Germany. They are tempered to Rc61
and are guaranteed to hold a razor sharp edge for hours of
productive, uninterrupted carving. Handles made in USA.
Large Gouge:
#5 sweep, 30mm blade. 8" handle, 14 1/4" overall length.
Medium Gouge:
#5 sweep, 25mm blade. 8" handle, 14 1/4" overall.

Strasmann) has been in business for more than 150 years and
currently manufactures carving tools that are among the finest in
the world. Each tool is hand forged and finished to
perfection. The fine German steel is properly hardened and
tempered and is guaranteed to hold a long lasting, sharp edge.
This set of 9 tools is specially designed for violin scroll and neck
carving. The short blades and handles are easier to control
than conventional carving tools and are perfect for the delicate
work of scroll carving. Overall length - 7 1/2", 3 1/4" handle.
All gouges in this 9 piece set are
#6 sweep. Set includes:

Corner
Block Gouges These inside
bevel gouges are the tool of choice for trimming violin, viola and
cello corner blocks
to shape. The fine steel blades are hand forged in Germany by
David Strasmann Co. (Dastra) and will take the razor sharp edge
necessary for delicate trimming operations. The comfortable Ash
handle features a brass ferrule and ergonomic shape. Overall length
10" to 12", handle length 4 1/4".
Two sizes are available. The #8
sweep 22mm (A)is the perfect tool for violins and violas. The #8 sweep
35mm (B) is the tool for cello work. |
