Stanley
Block Planes
Made in England by Stanley these are arguably the single most useful hand
tools in the woodworking shop. Handy for trim work, end grain planing, fine
surfacing of difficult woods and much more. The compact size of these planes makes
them perfect for one handed work where a full size tool would be bulky and awkward.
Accurately machined from fine cast iron with brass adjusting knobs. Two styles are
available, low angle (13 1/2°) for end grain work and standard angle (20°) for general
finish and trim work. Blades require honing before use.

| Wooden Smooth Plane |

The tactile
feel and light weight make wood planes irresistible to lovers of hand tools. Many
craftsmen would like to own one but have been put off by the high prices. If that
describes you, take a close look at our new wood bodied plane. This tool, made in
Holland of kiln dried Red Beech with a Hornbeam sole, will fulfill all of your
expectations for how a fine plane should perform. The nicely machined body is
attached to the sole with a corrugated joint (see picture on right) which ensures a
strong, permanent bond. All surfaces are sanded smooth and coated with protective
lacquer finish.
The
blade and chip breaker are extraordinary. Each is over 1/8" thick and their
combined stiffness eliminates all flex and chatter. The carbon steel blade will take
and hold a very keen edge. Treat yourself to this affordable, quality plane.
You'll be glad you did!
Wedged wooden plane blades are easy to adjust by
tapping the metal button at the rear, or the wedge and blade. Instructions for set-up and
use included.
